Anonymous posters take on 'immoral' art works

On Wednesday, three large posters critical of nudity in art works came up in Raopura, Vadodara, in the wake of the MS University Fine Arts Faculty fracas. All the posters were put up anonymously, and contained citations from the Bible, and the Hitopadesh, and were obliquely were critical of nudity in art. At the same time, an online petition to addressed to the Gujarat Governor has begun to do the rounds on the internet by a recently formed Association of Academics and Citizens for University Autonomy seeking his intervention in the Fine Arts Faculty issue.

According to sources, the poster war is a sophisticated attempt to take on the art fraternity and all those who supported Chandramohan and suspended dean Shivaji Panikkar. Meanwhile, after a petition to the UGC, yet another online petition to the governor titled, "Attack on MSU Autonomy" is being circulated under the loose alliance of Association of Academics and Citizens for University Autonomy, which has been worded by MSU senate member Pantul Kothari.
