Fashioning it right Africa is still a minor contributor to overconsumption and its fashion industry has the opportunity to “get things right” from the start and become global leaders in sustainable fashion. While many African designers are already integrating sustainability in textile waste management through fashion fibre-to-fibre recycling or through other optimised processes focused on recycling and reuse, consumer behaviour in particular can be influenced by promoting a culture of reuse and resale, followed by recycling and repurposing.
